Digital Product Passport
We implement the complete Digital Product Passport together with you.
From working out which obligation applies to your products, through connecting your existing product data, to the finished passport that people scan on the product. From February 2027, batteries for electric cars, e-bikes and large storage systems will need a Digital Product Passport in the EU. Textiles, furniture, electronics and further product groups follow step by step. The central EU registry for product passports has been in operation since July 2026. The passport is meant to show where a product comes from, what is inside it, how it can be repaired and how it is recovered at the end. When it affects your products is shown in the overview.
When it affects your products
The EU is introducing the Digital Product Passport product group by product group. Only a few dates are already fixed, the others are expected dates from the EU work plan.

Mandatory for industrial batteries, EV batteries, stationary storage above 2 kWh and e-bike batteries, governed by the EU Battery Regulation.

Legal act expected for 2027, the obligation follows around 18 months later.

What sits behind the QR code
A product passport is only worth as much as the data behind it. Many people picture a Digital Product Passport as a QR code with a product page behind it. That is the part you see.
What matters is what stands behind it. Where does the product come from? What is inside it? Which stations has it passed through, and what happened to it along the way? These details have to be correct. They have to be verifiable, for customers, for auditors, for authorities. And they have to stay readable, even when the product has long since reached the customer, even in five years, even when your systems have changed.
A product page alone does not carry that. The data behind it does.

The same standard as the barcode on your product
Our product passport is based on the same standard that already sits behind the barcode on almost every product: the standard of GS1, the organisation that defines worldwide how products are identified unambiguously. Every checkout reads that identification, every warehouse, every logistics system, and has done so for decades.
For your product passport that means it speaks a language your suppliers, your retailers and the authorities can all read. Nobody needs a special solution to understand it.
And it means it stays readable. The standard belongs to no single vendor. If you use a different system in five years, or work with a different service provider, your data remains interoperable. You commit to an open standard. No vendor holds your data hostage, we do not either.
